20TH ANNIVERSARY CALENDAR PROJECT

Coffee Tables

To pay tribute to my favorite piece of furniture, the coffee table, I'll be making a different table each month. Each table will be inspired by a different design movement. I chose the coffee tables because it was the first thing I made when I was just getting started. A coffee table is often the center of everyday life and I want this project to reflect that.

DRY GOODS

Creating custom furniture results in an endless supply of scrap material. In my time between jobs I utilize these materials for creative small goods that enhance the quality of everyday life. Check out my shop for products available regularly and for special edition items.

ABOUT ME

I am a self-taught furniture maker and designer from a long line of craftsmen. My great grandfather was a gunsmith and furniture maker in Southern Ohio, my grandfather was the head of Industrial Technology at Kent State University, and my father was a cabinetmaker.   I began building furniture in a small shop 19 years ago. My passion is to create unique furniture that lasts for generations, and embodies how we live and who we are. My early work and some of my current inspiration comes from the clean lines and elegant proportions of antique Danish furniture and the simple beauty of Japanese architecture. As of late, I am finding inspiration in some of my early drawings combined with a pattern I may have seen, or a historic building close to where I live in Biddeford, Maine.
