May
“May” is the fifth table of my 2020 calendar project. Inspired by a combination of Japanese design and the arts and crafts movement of the early 20th centruy. Also, lincoln logs. Dimensions: 27”x40”x14.5”
As I've been thinking about how I can help support so many of my friends and neighbors who also have small businesses that are either closed or operating in a reduced way due to the impacts of cororavirus I realized I could do something with this table project. So many of the businesses in downtown Biddeford are owned by friends and have been the key element in revitalizating our downtown. During the duration of the pandemic, I’ll be donating 50% of the sale of each table to a different business.
50% of the sale of "May" will go to Lorne Wine to help with them during this challenging time. Erin Sheehan and Carson James opened their tastfully curated wine bar and shop in June of 2019 and it immediately became one of my favorite spots to hang out. They have been an amazing addition to down town since they opened. If you ever find yourself driving through, make sure you stop and have a glass of wine or a craft beer. Carson also makes the best pimento cheese dip I’ve ever had. If you aren't local you also can't go wrong with a subscription to their wine club, great wines once a month and a fun zine to go with it! I am really looking forward to their outdoor space which I hear is coming soon.
